【Abstract】 In contrast to traditional detective fiction, hard-boiled detective fiction places greater emphasis on the deployment of complex narrative strategies that foster ethical reading. The ethical positioning of these narrative strategies is primarily manifested in the following three aspects. First, the predominance of a detective-centered perspective enables readers to establish ethical identification with the narrator-detective, thereby encouraging greater reader agency and achieving a fair-play ethical dynamic. Second, the detective’s reliance on deductions grounded in ethical common sense, coupled with the ethical relationships among characters and their transgressive choices, prompts readers to engage in ethical judgment. Third, by constructing unstable situations of both known and unknown, the novels elicit complex ethical cognition and emotional responses from readers, thereby achieving an ethical teaching similar to that of serious tragedy.更多还原
