Advances in research on plant-soil-microbe interactions mediated by root exudates in forest ecosystems
【Abstract】 Root exudates(REs), organic compounds actively or passively released by plant roots into the rhizosphere, continuously supply nutrients and energy to soil. This process drives changes in soil nutrient dynamics and recruits specific microorganisms to enrich the rhizosphere. REs form the biochemical foundation for plant-soil-microbe interactions, facilitating root establishment. The mutualistic or competitive relationships emerging from these interactions reflect evolutionarily honed resource acquisition strategies. Crucially, REs initiate and regulate root-soil-microbe communication within soil systems. This review systematically examines factors influencing REs,summarizes their composition and regulatory roles, and comprehensively analyzed RE-mediated plant-rhizosphere microbe interactions.Furthermore, REs’ ecological significance in forest ecosystems has been explored, focusing on their involvement in plant-soil-microbe feedback. This synthesis advances understanding of RE contributions to plant-soil feedback mechanisms, which is essential for deciphering forest biodiversity maintenance.
