【Abstract】 Holcocerus hippophaecolus is a major pest that causes severe damage to seabuckthorn(Hippophae rhamnoides) forests. It is widely distributed in Northeast, North, Northwest, and East China. The larvae feed on roots and trunks, often resulting in extensive tree mortality, which poses a serious threat to the sustainable development of the seabuckthorn industry. This paper reviews the pest’s damage characteristics, occurrence patterns, and current control strategies, and proposes corresponding prevention and management recommendations to support the sustainable control of H.
