【Abstract】 Generative artificial intelligence(AI), with its outstanding capabilities to create new content, process multi-modal data, and enhance virtual simulation technologies, offers new opportunities for ideological and political education. However, when Generative AI empowers ideological and political education, there are also some potential risks, such as the weakening of educational subjectivity, the misalignment of ethical values, and the masking process of an information cocoon. To avoid these risks, it is necessary to enhance educational subjectivity by establishing interactive teacher-student relationships, emphasize the guiding role of mainstream values in the integration of ideological and political education and Generative AI, regulate Generative AI-specific application and improve relevant legislation, and lay the foundation of rational technology application by fostering the ethical literacy of multiple subjects.
