【Abstract】 The innovativeness of Chinese civilization is concomitant with the long history of Chinese civilization. In this time-honored and extended historical development process, the national spirit of striving constantly for self-perfection, the cultural gene of adapting to the times, and the thinking method of maintaining the middle way and achieving harmony have been gradually condensed. The philosophical view on the universe of Chinese civilization, which emphasizes the continous creation of life is change, provides the original driving force for the development of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics in the new era. The value system of holding fast the golden mean offers the internal driving force for the development of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics in the new era. The view of civilization that advocates have ample virtue and carry all things provides the external driving force for the development of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
