【Abstract】 Wan Junren points out that through the efforts and struggles of several generations of scholars, the construction of ethics with Chinese characteristics has started to take form, and providing substantial theoretical preparations and disciplinary accumulations for succeeding scholars. Accordingly, the task of the current Chinese scholars is to fulfill “philosophical continuation, ” that is, rooting themselves in their tradition while making effective ethical responses to technological advancements and shifts in real-life situations, achieving the inheritance and creation of ethical spirit. By reviewing classical notions such as virtue ethics, justice theory, and modernity issues in China and the West, Wan Junren delves into essential topics on how to conduct research on Chinese ethics, the relationship between ethics and politics, and the possible forms of applied ethics. Furthermore, based on a distinction between “ethical knowledge” and “knowledge in ethics, ” he envisions a future-oriented ethics.更多还原
