【Abstract】 The prevailing narrative of modern economic growth, which seeks optimal solutions within a balanced and stable single-system, is increasingly unable to accommodate the unbalanced characteristics of global economic development brought about by new technological revolutions. The parochialism implicit in this narrative——both in terms of time and space——has become increasingly evident. The same process of industrialization presents different appearances and points to different futures under distinct narratives. By comparing how industrialization is portrayed in various narratives, this article reflects on the prevailing narrative of modern economic growth and its value shifts, identifies and strips away the parochialism within it, and contributes Chinese wisdom to the multiple, pluralistic, and diverse narratives of world historical evolution based on China’s practices and its excellent traditional culture. This is not only a need for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, but also a glorious mission entrusted to us by the times during this critical juncture in human history.更多还原
