【Abstract】 Mao Zedong’s thought on investigation and research is a creative theoretical achievement of Marxist philosophy adapting to the Chinese context. The ontology, epistemology, and methodology of Marxist philosophy provide a systematic and comprehensive philosophical framework and analytical logic for this thought. At the ontological level, Mao Zedong consistently adhered to the fundamental principles of historical materialism, endowing investigation and research with both theoretical and practical significance, as well as a value orientation toward human liberation, thereby fully embodying the revolutionary nature of Marxist philosophy. At the epistemological level, Mao Zedong innovated a praxis-based epistemological path of materialism in investigation and research by emphasizing seeking truth from facts, the mass line, and the unity of knowledge and action, powerfully interpreting the practicality of Marxist philosophy. At the methodological level, starting from the“ productive forces–relations of production” dialectic, Mao Zedong stressed systems thinking and problem orientation, and clarified a dialectical materialist technical route for identifying, analyzing, and solving problems, deeply demonstrating the scientific nature of Marxist philosophy. A systematic analysis of Mao Zedong’s thought on investigation and research highlights its significant contribution to the enrichment and development of Marxist philosophy, offering fundamental guidance for the Communist Party of China’s research efforts in the new era and new journey, and practical direction for advancing to adapt Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times.更多还原
