【Abstract】 This article analyzes and reexamines the role of Ya Ming and the artistic origin and historical status of the New Jinling School on the basis of sketching activities carried out by the Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Painting Workshop and Ya Ming’s profound understanding of the traditions of classical Chinese freehand paintings. It is necessary to shatter understanding constraints in previous studies on Ya Ming and the New Jinling School, and reveal the essence of the traditions of classical Chinese freehand paintings that was obscured by sketching, in order to sustain the internal connections between the New Jinling School and classical Chinese freehand paintings.更多还原
