【Abstract】 The publication of Silent Spring signaled the advent of American environmental movement.Based on her scientific expertise and ethic, Rachael Carson was destined to become the right person to reveal harms synthetic pesticides would do to the environment and human beings, which showed her profoundly literary life care.As an ecological work, Silent Spring shows the negative sides of advances in science and technology, and explores the deeper and broader background to interpret the relationships between human beings and science.This makes Silent Spring the landmark in eco-criticism and the good example of dialogues between science and literature.Apart from the reflections on science and technology and their spinoffs, Silent Spring also demonstrates the ecological holism and consciousness of a community with shared future for all species.更多还原
