【Abstract】 Building a leading country in education is led by higher education, and the key is to insist on the development of higher education in a classified manner. Skill-oriented colleges and universities are an important part of the synergistic and innovative development of vocational education, higher education and continuing education, and are a new type of force to promote the building a leading country in education. In the process of building a leading country in education, the role of skill-oriented colleges and universities should first be clarified. Skill-oriented colleges and universities are the key nodes for building a vocational education system that integrates production and education, the important cornerstone for building a self-improving and excellent higher education system, and the powerful engine for building a ubiquitous and accessible lifelong education system.
