不同焊后热处理的铝/镁管件电磁脉冲焊接接头的微观组织和失效模式

【摘要】 采用电磁脉冲焊接(EMPW)技术对5052铝合金和AZ31镁合金管材进行了焊接,利用扫描电镜(SEM)、能谱分析(EDS)和万能试验机等研究了焊后热处理温度对铝/镁管材EMPW接头微观组织和力学性能的影响。结果表明:焊后热处理会使接头界面形成金属间化合物(IMCs),焊后热处理温度为200℃时,铝/镁界面处仅形成Al12Mg17 IMC层,焊后热处理温度达到250和300℃时,界面处形成Al12Mg17和Al3Mg2 IMCs层,靠近Mg合金侧的为Al12Mg17层,靠近Al合金侧的为Al3Mg2层;IMCs的形成会严重影响接头的力学性能,随着焊后热处理温度的升高,焊接接头在拉伸-剪切测试中由铝管母材失效转变焊缝失效;焊后热处理温度≥150℃时,铝/镁EMPW接头均在焊缝处失效,但发生开裂的位置并不相同,可分为沿着靠近Al合金侧焊缝开裂的韧性断裂模式、沿Al12Mg17层开裂的脆性断裂模式和沿着Al3Mg2层开裂的脆性断裂模式3种。

【Abstract】 Electromagnetic pulse welding(EMPW) technology was used to weld 5052 aluminum alloy and AZ31 magnesium alloy tubes. The effects of post-weld heat treatment temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of EMPW joints of the Al/Mg tubes were studied using scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) analysis, and universal testing machine. The results show that the post-weld heat treatment leads to the formation of intermetallic compounds(IMCs) at the interface of the joints. When the post-weld heat treatment temperature is 200 ℃, only the Al12Mg17 IMC layer is formed at the Al/Mg interface. When the post-weld heat treatment temperature reaches 250 ℃ and 300 ℃, Al12Mg17 and Al3Mg2 IMC layers are formed at the interface, with the Al12Mg17 layer near the Mg alloy side and the Al3Mg2 layer near the Al alloy side. The formation of intermetallic compounds(IMCs) can seriously affect the mechanical properties of the joints. With the increase of post-weld heat treatment temperature, the failure model of the welded joints changes from the failure of the Al tube base metal to the failure of the weld in the tensile-shear test. When the post-weld heat treatment temperature exceeds 150 ℃, the Al/Mg EMPW joints fail at the weld, but the location of cracking is not the same. It can be divided into three types: ductile fracture mode along the weld near the Al alloy side, brittle fracture mode along the Al12Mg17 layer, and brittle fracture mode along the Al3Mg2 layer.
