【Abstract】 Chloasma is a common pigmentary skin disorder that is easily diagnosed but difficult to treat, often resulting in a prolonged course of the disease. Professor Hou Huixian believes that this condition is related to the liver, spleen, and kidneys and categorizes the commonly encountered chloasma in clinical practice into three types: liver depression and qi stagnation with blood stasis,spleen deficiency with dampness, and liver and kidney yin deficiency. According to different syndrome types, different prescriptions are selected and modified. At the same time, acupuncture, bloodletting, acupoint injection, traditional Chinese medicine facial mask, and other traditional external treatment methods are also employed.
