【Abstract】 With the deepening of digital rural governance, the expansion of “space of flows” has further compressed the “space of places” on which villagers rely, leading to the dilemma of weakened villager subjectivity. By introducing Castells’ space theory, this paper analyzes the antagonistic and comple??mentary relationship between the space of places and the space of flows, and the process by which the materiality, symbolism, and sociality of space constrain the enhancement of rural residents’ subjectivi??ty. This paper takes the intervention of digital tools, the reconstruction of the space of flows, and the strengthening of villagers’ self-identity and participation capabilities as strategic guidance.
