【摘要】 本文基于2023年全国高校毕业生就业状况调查数据，考察了本科毕业生的英语能力对其就业质量的影响。研究发现，英语能力兼具人力资本属性与能力信号功能。具体而言，拥有英语四级证书和更高的四级笔试成绩均能显著提升毕业生的就业起薪，英语口语能力则对提高就业起薪和就业满意度均有积极作用。进一步分析发现，四级证书和笔试成绩可以通过促进毕业生选择正式求职途径来提升其起薪，而口语能力则是通过帮助毕业生形成更务实多元的就业观念，进而提升就业满意度。本文为增强大学英语教育的社会适配性、推动高校高质量就业服务体系建设提供了实证参考。更多还原

【Abstract】 This paper examines the impact of English proficiency on employment quality among undergraduate graduates, based on the 2023 data from Chinese College Graduates Employment Survey. The findings reveal that English proficiency serves both as a form of human capital and as a signaling mechanism of competence. Specifically, both CET-4 certification and written test scores significantly raise the starting salary of graduates, while spoken English proficiency positively affects both their starting salary and employment satisfaction. Further analysis reveals that CET-4 certification and written test scores improve starting salary by encouraging graduates to pursue formal job-search channels, whereas oral proficiency boosts employment satisfaction by fostering more pragmatic and diversified employment expectations. This research provides empirical evidence to enhance the social adaptability of college English education and support the development of high-quality graduate employment services in universities.更多还原
