Analysis Of Inflammatory Factors and Neurotransmitter Levels in Perimenopausal Depressed Patients
【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the changes in the levels of inflammatory factors and neurotransmitters in perimenopausal depressed patients and their relationship with depressed mood. Methods Eighty-six perimenopausal women were observed from February 2023 to January 2025,and were divided into the depressed group and the non-depressed group according to the screening of Hamilton Depression Scale-17(HAMD-17). The levels of inflammatory factors and neurotransmitters were compared between the two groups, and the correlation with the HAMD-17 score was analyzed. Results Twenty-five of 86 perimenopausal women had depressive mood with HAMD-17 score(19.86±2.11). The levels of pro-inflammatory factors[ interleukin-2(IL-2),tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α)] were significantly higher in the depressed group than in the nondepressed group, and the levels of anti-inflammatory factors(IL-4,IL-10)were significantly lower than in the nondepressed group(P<0.05). The levels of 5-hydroxy tryptamine(5-HT)and dopamine(DA)were lower in the depressed group than in the non-depressed group(P<0.05). HAMD scores in the depressed group were positively correlated with IL-2 and TNF-α,and negatively correlated with IL-4,IL-10,5-HT,and DA(P<0.05). Conclusion Perimenopausal depressed patients have dysregulated levels of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory factors as well as disturbed levels of neurotransmitters, which are significantly associated with depressed mood.
