Boiling Heat Transfer Characteristics of Bionic Honeycomb Surfaces under Ultra-High Heat Flux
【Abstract】 In this study,multi-scale bionic honeycomb porous surfaces of varying thicknesses were prepared using electrodeposition. The microstructure, flow characteristics, and pool boiling performance of these materials were characterized and tested. The results indicate that during liquid absorption, the liquid preferentially wets the honeycomb pores through the pore walls, from the bottom to the top.Sample#T1000,with greater thickness and higher pore wall area ratio, exhibits superior capillary action.Additionally,Sample#T500,with a thinner thickness, shows lower superheat in the low heat flux density range, while Sample#T1000 demonstrates a higher critical heat flux (CHF).Due to the abundance of nucleation sites, excellent flow characteristics, and inherent liquid-vapor separation properties,Sample#T1000 achieves a CHF of up to 700 W·cm-2 at a superheat of 53 K.
