【Abstract】 The Dazu Rock Carvings, an outstanding example of the Sichuan-Chongqing grotto traditions, have evolved through three distinct phases of academic documentation and research. The Comprehensive Record of Dazu Rock Carvings(3 volumes) newly published by the Academy of Dazu Rock Carvings marks a very important contribution to this field. This work systematically catalogs all 75 protected cultural heritage units of grottoes and cliff statues within the Dazu district, integrating high-resolution photographs with critical syntheses of research advances from the past four decades. The Comprehensive Record of Dazu Rock Carvings establishes an essential resource for Dazu Studies and opens new avenues for multidisciplinary research in Buddhist art, regional history,and religious archaeology.更多还原
