【Abstract】 Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books is the first literary work written by the Iranian-American writer Azar Nafisi, who employs the mise en ab?me technique and constructs a labyrinthine narrative structure to convey different facts and events against the historical background. This essay explores his fictional narrative art by analyzing the memoir’s unique narrative structure and mise en ab?me storytelling technique, and the realistic function of the unique narrative structure, for the purpose of demonstrating that the book is a fictional work, not simply a memoir in the traditional sense.
