【Abstract】 As a branch of the Han ethnic group formed through historical migrationsto the South from the Central Plains of China, the Hakka people have developed a distinctive culture shaped by their migration experience. In Mauritius, the Hakka community has preserved and developed their culture through the transmission of language, festivals, cuisine, clothing, and other cultural practices, demonstrating their resilience in the face of long-term migration and adaptation. Within the multicultural context of Mauritius, the Hakka have employed a strategy of“dual encoding”of cultural symbolsaslanguage, festivals, cuisine, clothing and others—preserving traditional cores while embracing localized innovation—to construct a unique network of cultural resilience. The transmission of the Hakka language in Mauritius is driven by two interrelated forces. The culturally symbiotic ecology of Mauritius provides an institutional space for the survival of Hakka culture, while the Hakka people sustain cultural endeavors-94-through economic resilience and the localized reconstruction of language, rituals, and traditional dress patterns, which make them achieve the practical transformation of cultural consciousness. Under the impact of globalization,Hakka culture is increasingly marginalized due to symbolic, functional, and identity-related disjunctions. A strategy that combines "functional activation" and "emotional reconstruction" offers an innovative pathway for the survival and development of Hakka culture in Mauritius.
