基于布儒斯特定律的宝石折射率的测量

【摘要】 折射率是天然或人造宝石均具备的特征参量,对于宝石种类和纯度的鉴定具有重要意义.本文基于大学物理实验教学中的布儒斯特定律,设计了无损测量宝石折射率的方案,并搭建了完整的测量和导向装置,实现了对待测样品折射率参量的高精度自动采集.测量结果表明:利用该装置测定和田玉、钻石样品的折射率值与理论值吻合较好.

【Abstract】 The refractive index is a characteristic parameter for both natural and artificial gemstones, which is of great significance for the identification of gemstones with different types and purity. In this paper, a non-destructive strategy was developed for investigating the refractive index of different kinds of gemstones based on Brewster’s law introduced in college physics experiments. On this basis, a complete set of measurements and guidance devices were designed and constructed, and high-precision automatic collection of refractive index parameters of samples could be realized. Results showed that the refractive indexes of Hotan jade and diamond measured by the as-constructed devices were very close to their theoretical values, indicating high measurement accuracy.
