【Abstract】 This study unearths a unique model of translation--family trans-writing--shaped by the collaborative efforts of the family of Chaos. Focusing on four translated works produced within this framework, the research examines three forms of paratext—author’s note, prefaces, and footnotes,and reveals the distinct multi-voiced dynamics of strategic competition in family collaboration during translation. Family members frequently voice their opinions, either collectively adding footnotes to contest the right to speak in the translations or correcting errors to assert their claims to informational accuracy. Notably, Yuenren Chao, the author’s husband, imposes his overwhelming presence by incorporating scholarly remarks into the translations. In response to these boundary-blurring behaviors, the author employs a “flaw-exposing” approach as a counter-manipulation strategy. This dynamic of multi-voiced strategic competition ultimately shapes the translations into a product of family endeavor.更多还原
