【Abstract】 Making advances toward common prosperity is an important part of Chinese path to modernization and a concentrated reflection of the advantages of the socialist system. It is necessary to follow scientific methodological principles for making advances toward common prosperity. Firstly, we always adhere to the directional principle of scientific socialism, which is achieving common prosperity through the high development of new quality productive forces and the high adaptation of new production relations. Secondly, the initiative principle of being proactive in reform and innovation is adhered to, which gives full play to the initiative and creative spirit of the practice subject. Thirdly, the dialectical principle that the level of prosperity is not only unified but also different is adhered to, and the improvement of the level of common prosperity through dialectical negation will be realized. Fourthly, the consistency principle that efficiency and fairness is commonly promoted is adhered to, which forms a high-level combination between “fairness” and “efficiency”. Fifthly, the organic principle of promoting the enhancement of the capacity for common prosperity is adhered to, which gives play to the mutual help and organic nature of the community for common prosperity.
