智能制造促进了企业融通创新吗?
Does Intelligent Manufacturing Promote Business Co-innovation?
【摘要】 融通创新对于解决单一主体创新能力不足有重大意义。信息化浪潮下,智能制造有利于推动链上企业进行资源整合、成果共享与合作创新,成为促进企业融通创新的新手段。基于2010—2021年中国A股制造企业的经验证据,将“智能制造试点示范专项行动”的政策冲击视为一项准自然实验,采用多时点双重差分方法,探究智能制造对上下游协作主体间融通创新的作用渠道与影响路径。研究结果表明:(1)智能制造对企业间融通创新具有正向效应;(2)促进企业全要素生产率提升、增强动态能力和缓解融资约束是智能制造促进企业融通创新的重要传导途径;(3)分属于大型、成长期、激烈竞争行业以及可持续经营能力较强的企业,引入智能制造对融通创新的促进效果更为明显。研究结果证实了智能制造可以赋能企业融通创新提升,可以为政府促进大中小企业融通创新的政策决策提供理论参考与现实依据。
【Abstract】 Against the background of rapid development of the digital economy, the new innovation paradigm, co-innovation, is of great significance for enhancing single subject’s innovation ability, and smart manufacturing is conducive to promoting resource integration, achievement sharing, and collaborative innovation among enterprises, which has become a new means to promote enterprise co-innovation. Based on the empirical evidence of Chinese A-share manufacturing enterprises from 2010 to 2021, this paper measures the enterprise co-innovation indexes through the data of listed enterprises, and empirically examines the channels and influence paths of intelligent manufacturing on the upstream and downstream co-innovation by using the difference-in-differences(DID) method.It is found that:(1) Smart manufacturing can significantly improve corporate co-innovation. To exclude the two-way causality between smart manufacturing and corporate co-innovation and the omission of important variables in the model construction, this paper deals with the possible endogeneity between smart manufacturing and corporate co-innovation by constructing the instrumental variables of smart manufacturing.(2) The mechanism analysis shows that smart manufacturing can drive firms to improve their total factor productivity, enhance their dynamic capabilities, and alleviate their financing constraints, thus enhancing corporate co-innovation. In addition, the robustness analysis shows that after the placebo test, the replacement of explanatory variables measurement, the PSM-DID, lagged dependent variable regression, intelligent manufacturing still plays a significant role in promoting corporate co-innovation.(3) In the heterogeneity analysis, the paper classifies the sample data into large-scale enterprises and small-and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs), growing enterprises and mature enterprises, enterprises with strong sustainable operation ability and those with weak sustainable operation ability for group regression. It finds that in large-scale, growing enterprises, and those with strong sustainable operation ability, intelligent manufacturing has a significant role in promoting enterprise co-innovation, while in SMEs, mature enterprises, and those with weak sustainable operation ability, intelligent manufacturing does not have a significant effect on corporate co-innovation. Then, based on the degree of competition in the industry to which the enterprise belongs, the sample data is divided into two groups of industries with high and low competition for regression. It is found that intelligent manufacturing has a significant role in promoting the level of co-innovation of enterprises in industries with high competition, while its role is not obvious in industries with low competition. The results confirm that intelligent manufacturing can empower enterprises to improve the level of co-innovation, which provides theoretical reference and practical basis for the government to promote the co-innovation of large, medium and small enterprises.
