【Abstract】 American studies in China have experienced remarkable growth in recent years, driven by the dedication of Chinese scholars. This progress is evident in the increasing number of research institutions, the expanding community of researchers, and the diversification of research topics. However, compared to the robust American studies programs in the Soviet Union during the Cold War and contemporary Japan, China’s field faces several challenges. These include: limited research teams, decentralized institutions, insufficiently comprehensive research topics, inadequate research depth, and limitations in research methods. These challenges, coupled with the rapidly changing global landscape and the crucial developments in China-US relations, impede the further progress of American studies in China. Addressing these issues is crucial to ensure the continued development and impact of the field.更多还原
