【Abstract】 The urban writing by the new generation of writers can be regarded as the Chinese practice of Benjamin’s “ruins aesthetics” as a result of the translation and introduction of Western theories and the corresponding cultural context in the 1980s and 1990s.A potential dialogue between Chinese and western thoughts can be made centering on the common image “wanderer” in their literary discourse.While Benjamin tries to wake up the historical angels in the ruins by “scavenging”,the new generation of writers tries to break through the ruins in a “revolutionary” way,which indicates the trend of “self-renewal” of western theories by China in the early 1990s and the possibility of “redemption” in a general sense.更多还原
