【Abstract】 John Dewey reiterated the value of "occupation", reviewed the distinctive nature of vocational education, promoted the integration of general and vocational programs, and emphasized the role of "active work" in vocational training in light of the industrial revolution and the progressive replacement of manual labor by machine production. Regarding the value orientation, talent cultivating, and social service of vocational education in China, the concepts offered by Dewey are incredibly insightful in the process of building a strong educational country and promoting common prosperity. The particular function that vocational education plays in fostering common prosperity, the improvement of technical and skilled talents’ vocational adaptability, and the integration of diverse forces to promote vocational enlightenment education are all necessary for the continued development of vocational education in China.更多还原
