社区老年男性促性腺激素与认知功能的关联
Association between Gonadotropins and Cognitive Function in Elderly Men in the Community Adults
【摘要】 目的 探讨社区老年男性性激素和促性腺激素与总体认知功能及各认知领域的关联。方法 检测“上海老年队列”基线581例非痴呆老年男性的血清睾酮、雌二醇、卵泡刺激素(FSH)和黄体生成素(LH)水平,评估基线总体认知功能和各认知领域。采用多元线性回归分析性激素/促性腺激素与认知功能的关联,以及年龄对该关联的效应修饰。结果 多因素模型中老年男性高FSH与更差的注意力相关(P=0.001);高LH与更差的注意力(P=0.001)、执行功能(P=0.014)和语言功能(P=0.026)相关;≥70岁男性中,FSH(P<0.001)和LH(P<0.001)越高,其注意力越差。结论血清促性腺激素可能与老年男性特定认知功能存在反向关联,年龄对此关联可能具有效应修饰作用。
【Abstract】 Aim To explore the association between sex hormones and gonadotropins with cognitive function in non-dementia men in the community. Methods Serum testosterone, estradiol,follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH), and luteinizing hormone(LH) concentrations were tested, and baseline cognitive function were assessed from 581 non-dementia elderly men in the Shanghai Aging Study. Multivariable linear regressions were used to examine the association between sex hormones/gonadotropins and cognitive function, as well as the effect modification of age on this association.Results In multivariable models, higher FSH levels were associated with poorer attention function in elderly men(P=0.001). Higher LH was significantly associated with poorer attention function(P=0.001),executive function(P=0.014), and language function(P=0.026). In men over 70 years old, higher FSH(P<0.001) and LH(P<0.001) levels were significantly associated with poorer attention function. Conclusion Serum gonadotropins may have a reverse association with specific cognitive function in elderly men and age may have an effect-modifying effect on this association.
