制造企业数字创新采纳与实施过程机理研究——基于格力电器纵向案例
Research on the Process Mechanism of Digital Innovation Adoption and Implementation in Manufacturing Enterprises: Case study of Gree Electric Appliances
【摘要】 数字创新已成为制造企业创新的新范式、新潮流,然而数字创新的过程机理尚不明晰,不同主体发挥的作用仍有待深入探究。为此,遵循“认知—行为—能力”逻辑框架,基于创新扩散理论视角,通过格力电器的纵向案例研究发现:第一,制造企业数字创新可划分为数字创新采纳和数字创新实施两个基本阶段,并构建了“数字化认知变革—数字创新战略选择—数字创新能力重构”过程模型。第二,具体到每个阶段,数字化认知变革主要体现为数字化认知刺激、数字化认知评价和数字化认知共识三个方面,数字创新战略选择主要包括数字创新战略导向、数字创新战略目标、组织数字化准备,数字创新能力重构包括传统创新能力解构、数字创新能力整合、数字创新能力构建三个维度。第三,数字创新不同阶段“高层—中基层—用户供应商”等各利益相关者发挥作用存在差异,其中,数字创新采纳阶段由高层管理团队主导,发挥了认知和战略层面的引领作用。中层领导与核心员工则主导了数字创新实施阶段,在数字创新能力重构方面起到了关键作用,而用户、供应商等外部利益相关者积极参与促进了数字创新实施。
【Abstract】 In the era of digital economy, emerging digital technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things,big data, and artificial intelligence are continuously and deeply integrated with the manufacturing industry, giving birth to a new innovation paradigm-digital innovation. It has not only become an innovative practice for many manufacturing enterprises in the industry, but also a popular and cutting-edge research topic in the field of innovation management.Following the logical framework of "cognition-behavior-capability" and based on the perspective of diffusion of innovation theory, Gree Electric Appliances, a leading household appliance enterprise, is taken as the research object. And a longitudinal case study method is adopted to explore the entire process mechanism of digital innovation adoption and implementation in manufacturing enterprises. The research has found that:(1) The adoption and implementation of digital innovation are the two basic stages, and a process model of "digital cognitive change-digital innovation strategicchoice-digital innovation capability reconstruction" has been constructed.(2)(i) Firstly, the digital cognitive change is mainly reflected in three aspects: digital cognitive stimulation, digital cognitive evaluation, and digital cognitive consensus. The important goal is to achieve a leap from manager cognition to organizational cognition, and to promote the acceptance and consensus of digital innovation in organizations from top to bottom.(ii)Secondly, the digital innovation strategic choice mainly includes digital innovation strategic orientation, digital innovation strategic goals, and organizational digital preparation. It depicts a grand blueprint for the overall planning and vision of formulating digital innovation strategy, reflecting the cognitive judgment of enterprises towards digital innovation and promoting strategic formulation.(iii)Thirdly, the digital innovation reconstruction capability includes three dimensions: the deconstruction of traditional innovation capability, the integration of digital innovation capability, and the construction of digital innovation capability. The purpose is to strengthen the deep integration with its own innovation development by introducing digital technology, and ultimately achieve the formation and construction of enterprise digital innovation capability.(3) At different stages of digital innovation, there are differences in the roles played by various stakeholders such as senior management, key employees, users, and suppliers. On the one hand, the adoption stage of digital innovation is led by the senior management team, which plays a leading role in cognitive and strategic aspects, promoting the formulation of the overall plan for digital innovation strategy. On the other hand, middle-level leaders and core employees have taken the lead in the implementation stage of digital innovation, playing a key role in the reconstruction of digital innovation capabilities. External stakeholders such as users and suppliers actively participate in promoting the implementation of digital innovation. Users have played an important role in personalized demand mining for intelligent products, product iteration innovation, as well as suppliers in research and development and production collaboration, quality management collaboration, and other aspects.The research results provide a theoretical framework and empirical reference for China’s manufacturing enterprises to successfully implement digital innovation and achieve high-quality development.(1) In terms of theoretical contribution,the two-stage process model of digital innovation adoption and implementation enriches the literature in the field of digital innovation management, providing an analytical framework for subsequent research on the digital innovation process. And based on the existing diffusion of innovation theory, through in-depth analysis of the application of digital technology in manufacturing enterprises to implement digital innovation, a digital innovation diffusion mechanism has been constructed,promoting the diffusion of innovation theory.(2) In terms of practical inspiration, research has shown that digital innovation in manufacturing enterprises is a systematic project and a long-term and continuous dynamic process. Enterprises should attach great importance to the construction of key digital innovation capabilities, especially leveraging the unique advantages of senior managers, key celebrity employees, users, and suppliers.
