“工程地质”课程全英文教学实践与思考
The Practice and Thinking of Teaching Engineering Geology in English
【摘要】 随着全球一体化进程的飞速发展和我国“一带一路”倡议的实施,来华国际留学生与日俱增。因此,全英文课程的开设,不仅能提高国内高校在校生的教学质量,也为留学生来华学习奠定了良好基础。以“工程地质”课程(全英文)近五年来的建设和教学经验为基础,详细分析了全英文课程的现状与存在的问题、推进全英文课程的对策,以及教学效果与课程改革展望,其中推进全英文课程的对策包括精挑细选——为留学生设计适合的教学内容、中西合璧——为留学生提供了解中国的窗口、内外兼修——为留学生打造专业的教师队伍,以期激发学生的内驱力、提高教学质量、提升学生的课堂参与度,实现兼具专业知识和科技英语技能的复合型研究人才的培养。
【Abstract】 With the rapid development of the process of global integration and the implementation of “the Belt and Road” policy, international students coming to China are increasing day by day. Therefore, the opening of all-English courses can not only improve the teaching quality of domestic college students, but also lay a good foundation for international students to study in China. Based on the construction and teaching experience of “Engineering Geology” course in our school in the past five years, this paper analyzes the present situation and existing problems of the English course in detail, and the countermeasures to promote the English course which include carefully selecting and designing suitable teaching content for international students, combining Chinese and Western elements to provide a window for international students to understand China, building professional teaching team for international students to stimulate students’ drive, improve the teaching quality, enhance students’ participation in class, and realize the cultivation of compound research talents with both professional knowledge and technical English skills.
