Investigation on job burnout among 382 healthcare workers
【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of job burnout among healthcare workers during the period of public health emergencies, so as to provide insights into psychological health interventions among healthcare workers during the period of public health emergencies. Methods A total of 382 healthcare workers participating in epidemic containment were sampled using a convenient sampling method from Nanjing City, Suzhou City and Shanghai Municipality in 2022.Questionnaire surveys were performed using general information survey forms, job burnout scales and social support scales, and the prevalence and influencing factors of job burnout were analyzed. Results The overall detection of job burnout was 62.0% among the 382 healthcare workers participating in epidemics containment, and the prevalence of mild, moderate and severe job burnout was 33.0%,19.9% and 9.2%,respectively.The mean social support score was(33.57±8.22) points, and the social support scores correlated negatively with job burnout scores(r=-0.366,P<0.01).In addition, multivariate ordinal logistic regression analysis showed that working experiences of 6 to 10 years and daily working duration of <10 hours were protective factors of job burnout, and an educational level of bachelor and below and a professional title of junior high school and below were risk factors of job burnout among healthcare workers.Disease control and prevention workers had a higher prevalence rate of job burnout than other occupations(all P values <0.05). Conclusions The prevalence of job burnout is high among healthcare workers participating in containment of the epidemics during the period of public health emergencies control.Effective social support is required, and psychological health should be given a high priority among disease control and prevention workers.
