【Abstract】 Conceptual Metaphor Theory(CMT) regards metaphor as the mapping of a concept to another concept and it is an approach of thinking and cognition. The research takes CMT as the theoretical framework and systematically analyzes the metaphors used in the speech delivered by Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister, at the General Debate of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The study discovers that orientational metaphors, ontological metaphors and structural metaphors are used alternately in the speech. They promote the effective delivery of the speech and the profound understanding of the audience.更多还原
