【摘要】 在当代美国华裔文学中，公共空间指除唐人街以外的美国社会的公共空间，包括政府权力空间、消费空间、文化教育空间等。作为美国“大熔炉”的一员，华裔移民以杂糅的文化身份逐渐走出唐人街，接触更加开阔的美国公共空间。然而，公共空间的模糊性与排他性给华裔移民带来极大的不安全感，这使得他们无法实现自我在社会空间中的身份认同，或认识到自己的归属性。因此，他们需要面临的问题是：如何认识并重新建构边缘与中心的关系，在社会空间中找到自己的特殊位置，并完成对主体意识的表述。本文以汤亭亭、谭恩美和伍慧明的小说为例，试图通过梳理作家们对华裔移民公共空间的书写，理清公共空间对于社会身份的影响机制，并揭示公共空间背后隐匿的权力分布。更多还原

【Abstract】 In contemporary Chinese American literature, public space refers to the social space outside the Chinatown in America, such as the power space of government, the space of consumption, the space of culture and education, etc. It has the features of being open, vague, uncertain, limited and exclusive, and often reflects the power of discipline in the mainstream society. When Chinese immigrants step out of Chinatown, they often feel insecure and unrooted, unable to realize their social identification. Thus, they are faced with the questions of how to recognize and reconstruct the connection between the margin and the center, how to locate themselves in American society, and how to construct the subject consciousness.This paper, by analyzing the novels of Maxine Hong Kingston, Amy Tan and Ng Fae Myenne, tries to portray how social identity politics work in the American public space, by creating territories and boundaries to create differences among group members.更多还原
