【Abstract】 It is generally recognized that Polynesians from the South Pacific arrived in Americas as early as the 13th and 14th centuries. By then, American crops had been widely spread in the Polynesian Islands.Coincidentally, soon after Polynesians arrived in the Americas, American crops began to appear abundantly in local Chinese chronicles, materia medica, and other documents. Correspondingly, in recent years, foreign scholars have found that as early as before the 15th century, many Chinese crops had been taken across the Pacific Ocean to Americas. From the 6th century to the 14th century, the Aleutian Islands in the North Pacific frequently appeared in Chinese documents. Through archeology, linguistics, physical anthropology, and other studies, scholars from the United States and the Soviet Union also found that there were extensive exchanges between the Aleutian Islands and Northeast Asia, including China, and North America before the Great Geographical Discoveries. Studies have shown that, before the Great Geographical Discoveries, there was at least the possibility of indirect exchanges between China and Americas by Polynesia, Aleutian and other Pacific islands.更多还原
