【摘要】 本文以美国华人科学家工程师专业人士协会为例,分析华人专业性社团在侨务公共外交中的作用,并探讨其特点和局限性。华人专业性社团具有族裔性和专业性的双重特性,在侨务公共外交中发挥着文化交流、服务社会、维护权益、增进知识、塑造形象和建言资政六大作用。该协会社会资源丰富、组织制度完善、得到中美两国政府的广泛支持,可以继续借助新闻传媒来扩展其在美国华人社区和社会中的影响力。展望未来,美国华人专业性社团可以在中国对美侨务公共外交中发挥更大作用。更多还原

【Abstract】 Taking the Association of Chinese American Scientists and Engineers in the United States as a research case, this paper analyzes the role of Chinese professional associations in public diplomacy on overseas Chinese affairs, and discusses its characteristics and limitations. With the dual nature of ethnicity and professionalism, Chinese professional associations play six roles in Chinese diaspora public diplomacy, including cultural exchanges, social service, rights and interests protection, knowledge enhancement, image shaping, and providing policy advice. With rich social resources, perfect organizational system and extensive support from both the Chinese and American governments, the association can continue to expand its influence in Chinese community and American society through the news media. Looking ahead, the Chinese-American professional associations can play a greater role in China’s public diplomacy on overseas Chinese affairs in the United States.更多还原
