大学生物学课程教学方式改革的思考与实践
Thinking and practice on the reform of the teaching mode in advanced biology course
【摘要】 为了更好地帮助学生掌握前沿的生物学知识、提高学生的实践操作能力、培养学生的独立思考能力,本文以浙江大学医学院和生命科学学院本科生为研究对象,针对大学生物学课程教学中存在的教学资源整合效率低、学生课堂参与度低、授课方式不灵活、授课知识陈旧等4个方面的问题进行了相应的教学方式的改革,具体举措包括:充分利用网络平台资源实践信息检索和整合、开设“翻转课堂”、引入智慧课堂和举办专家专题报告。结果表明,大学生物学课程教学方式的改革显著提高了学生对于相关理论知识的理解能力、文献检索能力和实验技能,有效提升了学生的课堂参与度和学习主动性,为学生日后接受系统的科研训练奠定了良好的基础,为后续的教学改革提供了参考经验。
【Abstract】 To help the students comprehend the state-of-the-art concepts and techniques as well as develop the practical skills and well-developed independent learning skills, this study performed reform of the teaching mode to the undergraduates from Medical School and College of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University in advanced biology course. Initially, four issues existing in the current teaching mode in advanced biology education were pointed out, including inefficient application of teaching resources, low student participation in the class, inflexible teaching forms, and lack of latest concepts delivered in the class. Accordingly, several approaches were applied to improve the teaching mode. Specifically, the internet resourses were applied to help the students to practice searching for relevant information and integrating knowledge; The flipped classroom model was introduced in which students were asked to give the lectures instead of the teachers; The online system with physical lecture was applied to prepare the students before the class and keep the teachers staying in touch with the students after class; Experts in relevant fields were invited to give lectures introducing the state-of-the-art concepts and techniques. The results indicated that the reform of the teaching mode in advanced biology course helped the students to develop a better conceptual understanding of the major themes in biology. In addition, students also developed practical skills on scientific document retrieval and laboratory methods. By doing so, the students actively participated more in teaching activities and developed independent learning skills.All those laid a good foundation for students to receive systematic scientific research training in the future.This study provided new insights in the novel teaching mode for advanced biology and added more information for the follow-up research.
