Relationship between sleep quality,work-family conflict and mental health of nuclear power plant operators
【Abstract】 Objective To explore the effects of sleep quality and work-family conflict on mental health of nuclear power plant operators. Methods From September to October 2022,164 male operators of Lianyungang Nuclear Power Plant in Jiangsu Province were investigated by Pittsburgh sleep quality index, bidirectional work-family conflict questionnaire and depressionanxiety-stress scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The detection rate of insomnia among operators was 19.51%,and the detection rates of depression, anxiety and stress were 25.61%,18.90% and 13.41% respectively. The differences in detection rates of insomnia among operators with different living conditions were statistically significant, and the differences in the detection rates of depression and anxiety among operators with different ages were statistically significant(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the scores of sleep quality index,work-family conflict and family-work conflict among operators with and without depression, anxiety and stress(all P<0.01). The operators with depression, anxiety and stress symptoms had significantly higher scores of sleep quality index,work-family conflict and family-work conflict than those without depression, anxiety and stress symptoms. The factors influencing the operator’s depression were living alone, sleep quality index,work-family conflict and familywork conflict, the factors influencing the operator’s anxiety were sleep quality index,work-family conflict and family-work conflict, and the factors influencing the operator’s stress were marital status, living alone, sleep quality index and work-family conflict(all P<0.05). Conclusion The sleep quality and work-family conflict can significantly predict the mental health status of nuclear power plant operators.
