【Abstract】 The Book of Jade,an anthology of a combination of creation and translation of ancient Chinese poetry first published in 1867 and republished in 1902,is a major work in the history of the transmission of classic Chinese poetry overseas and SinoFrench literary relations from the historical dimension. With abundant materials it proves that Li Bai is the “main role” in The Book of Jade. Firstly,this is the first time that the portrait of Li Bai,the Immortal Poet,appears in a book published in the West.Secondly,a large number of poems in The Book of Jade feature the color of Li Bai’s poetry. Thirdly,the selected“poems of Li Bai”prove that this collection of poems is a continuation of the Chinoiserie in Europe in the 18th century in the European literary world at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. With the publication of multiple translations of The Book of Jade,the name and poetry of Li Bai traveled from Europe to America and were spread to a wider world of literature.更多还原
