【Abstract】 The article compares the development history of Zhuang in northern Guangdong and the distribution characteristics of traditional villages and dwellings, analyzes the location, function, type and form of existing gatehouses and their decorative arts in the region, compares the spatial forms of traditional Zhuang and Liangshan Zhuang households, explores the influence of natural conditions, Zhuang-Chinese ethnic integration and social environment on the formation of gatehouses, reveals the formation mechanism and development logic of gatehouse architecture in the region, and clarifies the unique spatial forms of dwel ing and the relationship between dwelling culture in the Zhuang region in northern Guangdong.
