Advances in Research on Once-weekly Insulin: Switching to Insulin Icodec from Daily Basal Insulin in Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes
【Abstract】 Poor adherence after insulin initiation contributes to inadequate glycemic control in patients with diabetes, and reducing the frequency of injections can help improve treatment adherence. Once-weekly insulin such as insulin icodec, provides an optional treatment with fewer injections for patients with diabetes requiring insulin therapy. This article describes the molecular structure and mechanism of action of insulin icodec, and discusses the efficacy and safety of insulin icodec in insulintreated type 2 diabetes based on the results of two phase Ⅲa clinical studies, ONWARDS 2 and 4.
