【Abstract】 With the development of positive psychology, the studies of emotions and other positive psychological traits began to attract scholars’ attention. The study of emotions is of great significance for understanding the development of learners. The present study investigated the emotional intelligence and foreign language enjoyment of 110 English majors in a western university by using Emotional Intelligence Scale and Foreign Language Enjoyment Scale. SPSS was used for descriptive statistics of the data, and Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence, foreign language enjoyment and English reading proficiency. The results show that the emotional intelligence and foreign language enjoyment of English majors are at the middle level; there is a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence, foreign language enjoyment and English reading proficiency. This paper concludes with implications of the research results on the teaching of English reading from the perspective of positive psychology.更多还原
