【Abstract】 From the fifth year of Shaoxi(1194) to the third year of Jiatai(1203), Xin Qiji spent eight years of retirement in Piao Quan. During this period, Xin Qiji indulged himself in the mountains and rivers, and frequently participated in social activities, creating a large number of responsorial lyrics. His responsorial lyrics not only unburdened his complicated inner sentiments and aspirations, but also reflected the sincere communication between hearts, which made his responsorial lyrics contain a high literary value. Xin Qiji’s responsorial lyrics with Zhao Jinchen in this period can be regarded as representative, reflecting his writing psychology under the three identities of idle retired literati, retired official and loyal hero.
