【Abstract】 The English Renaissance was the era of the rise of British travel literature. Travel writing became one of the most popular genres. The English Renaissance drama abounds with travel narratives, but it has not received enough attention from the scholars in China. This article explores the narrative modes of travel in English Renaissance drama, which has a dual discourse feature of fact and imagination. The exotic East has become the main target of British overseas exploration. English Renaissance drama presents the theme of British colonizers seeking for wealth, engaging in commercial activities, and colonial expansion. The travel writing in English Renaissance drama embodies the consciousness of colonial expansion, national identity, and formation of the vison of the world in early modern British society.更多还原
