【Abstract】 Dong Zhongshu’s political thought is the Confucian ideological system that is most closely related to China’s politics at the time and in the future. His seemingly idealistic concept of “the unity of heaven and man” reveals a consciousness of power supervision, while the seemingly absurd idea of “the divine right of kings” not only demonstrates the legitimacy of political power, but also shows the intrinsic connection between public opinion and legitimacy through the notion that “the people receive it.” His theory of “virtue as the main, punishment as the auxiliary” establishes the basic principle of good governance. The emphasis on centralization of power and the exclusive reverence for Confucianism also indicates the necessity of a unified ideology. The divergent concept of “equal wealth” reveals his idealized vision of wealth distribution in society. All of these ideas can provide useful insights for modern social governance.更多还原
