加拿大一流大学工程人才培养模式比较研究——以多伦多大学和滑铁卢大学为例
Comparative Researchand Reference on the Cultivation Model of Engineering Talents in World-class Universities of Canada——Taking University of Toronto and University of Waterloo as Examples
【摘要】 从高等教育居于世界前列的加拿大筛选出两所世界一流大学——多伦多大学和滑铁卢大学,作为工程人才培养模式研究对象,通过构建包含工程教育理念、工程人才培养方案、工程实践能力培养、工程创新创业教育、工程师资与研究、工程学生自我发展6个维度的定性特征因素分析框架,进行比较研究。结果表明,加拿大一流大学工程人才培养模式具有个性特色和共性特征,启示我国工程教育回归工程实践,培养产业所需工程人才;工程教育以学生为中心,培养工程人才实践动手能力;工程教育与创新创业教育融合,培养工程人才创新创业能力。
【Abstract】 In view of the unsatisfactory evaluation results of Emerging Engineering Education reform projects and the issue of path disputes, two world-class universities——University of Toronto and University of Waterloo, were selected in Canada, which ranks among the world’s top higher education institutions, as research objects. The qualitative characteristic factor analysis framework of six dimensions: Engineering Education Philosophy, Engineering Practice Ability Training, Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, Engineering Qualifications and Research, and Engineering Students’ Self-development, conducts a comparative study on their Cultivation Models of Engineering Talents. The results show that the Cultivation Model of Engineering Talents of first-class universities in Canada has individual characteristics and common characteristics, which enlightens that engineering education to return to engineering practice and cultivate engineering talents needed by the industry; engineering education is student-centered and cultivates engineering talents’ practical ability; engineering education and innovation and entrepreneurship Education integration, cultivate engineering talents innovation and entrepreneurship ability.
