【Abstract】 Zhu De is one of the founders and main leaders of New China and the people’s army. In his decades of revolutionary career, he put forward many unique opinions on the political work of the army and made important contributions to the construction and development of the army. Looking back on Zhu De’s life, Yunnan Military Academy was the first stop for him to get to the military science and to enter into the regular military academy. In 1909, Zhu De renounced his pen and joined the army and was admitted to Yunnan Military Academy. Under the influence of the “rigorous and self-disciplined” teaching style and the inspiration of his teachers and friends, he studied hard and made great progress. After the establishment of the People’s Army, Zhu De paid more attention to carrying out the political work in the army, and constantly developed his unique thought of military political work, including the absolute leadership of the Party over the army, unity and equality of the army officers and soldiers, strict discipline and system of the army, strengthening the ideological construction of the army and so on.
