【Abstract】 The idea of the innocent heart of the newborn has long been nurtured in the brilliant Chinese culture. Taoism, represented by Laozi, believes that the life of the newborn is natural, pure and simple, and that the newborn itself contains “the law of nature”. Confucianism, represented by Mencius, believes that the innocent heart of the newborn is gifted by the universe, and is the spiritual nourishment and internal basis for an individual to become an “adult”. The innocent heart of the newborn implies the inherent thought of Taoism returning to nature and Confucianism “becoming a sage”. As a kind of ideology that seeks to return to the origin of life, the innocent heart of the newborn symbolizes the supreme virtue and plays an important educational role in cultivating the natural instinct of individuals, nourishing the noble spirit of individuals, and improving the spiritual state of individual life.
