【Abstract】 In the process of adapting the story of the Roman celebrity Coriolanus into a tragedy of the same name, Shakespeare focused on the complex interaction between the language of the dramatic characters and politics, expressed his political philosophy by means of words. Rome wanders between war and peace, just like the protagonist Coriolanus transitions between talkativeness and silence. The three changes in the language style of Coriolanus embody Shakespeare’s political philosophy thinking,the "eloquent" military language contains criticism of democratic politics, the "confession" language attempts to analyze the characteristics of aristocratic politics and ideal monarchs, and the "silence" of language ultimately points to Shakespeare’s political ideals and their disillusionment.更多还原
