【Abstract】 During the middle and late Ming dynasty, a suit of armor with riveted plates concealed inside the cloth cover is widely used by soldiers. The unearthed objects of this kind of armor was research object.The article is based on the historical records, archives, and pictures. The name, form, origin, and popularity of this armor were sorted out and analyzed. According to the research, this type of armor was called brigandine in the Ming dynasty. Its popularity was mainly due to the innovation of firearms and economic development in the Ming dynasty. Brigandine was widely used in the middle and late Ming dynasty, and it was most popular in the northern region. Through an in-depth study of brigandine, we can get inheritance, development and influence of military equipment in the Ming dynasty.更多还原
