【Abstract】 In the process of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, building China into an independent, democratic, prosperous, and civilized socialist modern power was the unwavering goal of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong. Examining the historical context from the founding of Chinese path to modernization and its vigorous development to the successful promotion and expansion of the new era, we could more deeply understand Mao Zedong’s pioneering historical contributions to Chinese path to modernization. It laid practical, material, theoretical and institutional foundation for the success of Chinese path to modernization and preliminarily formed the essential and significant characteristics of Chinese path to modernization.
